The President of the European Commission today announced that ‘a compromise to break the deadlock in EU institutional reform’ might be possible next month. The EU’s legislative branch, the European Parliament, has had no sight of the proposed deal ‘to break the deadlock’. However, it would appear that Phoenix like, or Dracula like (depending on your perspective), something very like the last draft of the European Constitution will rise from the grave from whence which it was placed by the citizens of France and the Netherlands…see this report from Reuters on Ireland.com. |
